SKINFOOD is a Korean beauty brand ranging on the low-end side. It prides itself in using food ingredients. “Food that is good for your health, is also good for your skin.”
Its Tomato Jelly Tint comes in 4 shades: #1 Cherry, #2 Berry, #3 Orange, #4 Milk
Ranging from most pigmented to least.
Tomato Jelly Tint Lip: #1, #2, #3, #4
Long lasting for its subtle color
Not sticky nor greasy
Natural color that stays put through a dry meal
Doesn’t dry out lips and cause them to flake
The orange colored packaging is a pop of color!
There’s a layer of glitter on the gloss. Doesn’t seem to transfer onto lips though.
The scent is too flowery for my liking. It smells like artificial roses.
Despite the brand’s focus on “nutritive” ingredients, don’t mistaken that for natural ingredients. An example polybutene, a binding thickener that makes things sticky and glossy, listed as the first ingredient (products’ ingredient lists are in order of what they contain the most of to the least). It’s currently deemed safe to use by the FDA and CIR. However, where else is it found? Printer ink, airplane adhesives, roof and window sealants, are just some. That’ll certainly make me think twice about applying it to my lips.
